Many girls and children in Thailand today are living an unimaginable reality – they have been sold into prostitution to pay off family debts.  They are being used and abused day in and day out to pay off debts owed by their families.  Girls and children are sold into prostitution to provide the money needed to support their families. 


This is not a lifestyle choice.  These girls ultimately pay the huge price of abuse, isolation and rejection.  Some get hooked on drugs to deal with the pain and many have taken their own lives.  During his numerous travels in countries throughout the world Hand in Hand Founder Paul Darbinson has come face to face with many people who have lost all hope.  Those he has met have so often lost even the very will to live and escape into drug addiction and alcoholism.  Paul has seen into the eyes of those who are hopeless and longing for some way out.

Hand in Hand Ministries is all about helping these girls, rescuing children and trying to reunite them with their families or find safe houses for them to live.  Hand in Hand also helps girls out of prostitution, into education or to find alternative jobs. The Ministry also supports financially until suitable employment can be found.

This is a site of a couple we have been in contact with. Pastor Lockley Bremmer says that there is a deep seated need for inner healing among the Native Americans and he told us that only 2.5 % of Native Americans know Jesus. Some who come to Christ are forced to leave their reservation villages.

SALT AND LIGHT

Salt and light is an outreach ministry operated out of Glasgow Elim Church. A team of commited Christians work voluntarily on the bus.  Every Thursday night the bus goes into the red light area of Glasgow and the team works with the street girls and the homeless. A number of local businesses donate food and soup is also given  out. Prayer and support is offered by the team to the people we are in contact with. On Friday mornings a team goes into the Gorbals area of the city and parks in Somerfield Car Park working with the community there.
                        Please pray for protection for the Salt and Light team, for resources. We praise God for the supply of a new bus which is currently being kitted out.  Please also pray that more and more will receive Christ, and in Him find healing and a way out of their situation.

The team have noticed that there are an increasing number of young people, as young as 13 and 14 yrs old, on the streets in Glasgow.  Please pray particularly for these vulnerable children.

                             You may not be able to do the work of the ministry yourself but you can help us do the work of the ministry in practical ways.  Salt and Light always has a need for: canned hot dogs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving foam, deodorant, new hats & scarves etc.
