DISCIPLES OF JESUS MINISTRY

Where He leads us we will follow

Jesus- the reason or the season

A child was born

If Christ had not come?

IF CHRIST HAD NOT COME?

I am about to make five points as to where we would all be if Jesus had not come.

1)If Jesus had not come the Bible would be untrue.

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel

Mic 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting."

You see here that even the place of His birth was prophesied by Micah and the fact that He would be born of a virgin and He would be called Immanuel. There are in fact well over 300 prophesies regarding Jesus in the Old Testament. If Jesus hadn't come the Bible would be meaningless. But, we have seen the fulfillment of the promise of His first coming. So, we can believe the prophecies concerning the end times.

2)If Christ had not come we could not understand who God is.

Joh 14:7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."
Joh 14:8 Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us."
Joh 14:9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, "Show us the Father'?
Joh 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
Joh 14:11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

When you get to know the Son- you know God the Father.
Jesus the Son of the living God dwelt among us.

Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jesus Christ lives in the lifes of His followers. God gave us His Son and by the same token in a sense, Jesus Christ His Son gave us God, for through Him we can have access to the Father.

3)If Christ had not come our sins could not be forgiven.

If Jesus had not come we would all still be lost.

Mat
1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

Tha Apostle Paul recognised that as having been the purpose for Christ coming into the world.

1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

4)If Christ had not come our prayers would be unanswered.

Joh
16:23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
Joh
16:24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

We have access to the Father in prayer through the Son.

1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

5)If Christ had not come our hope would be unfounded.

Col 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Our hope- Jesus is coming for His Church.

So as we approach Christmas day let's remember the reason for the season.

1Co
15:14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.

But, Hallelujah, Praise the Lord Jesus did come, Jesus did die as an atonement for our sins. Jesus is our hope of Glory.

If you don't know Jesus as your Saviour come to Him today. He died for you. He was the once for all sacrifice making atonement for your sins and mine. I'm so glad I know Him as my Saviour.

LET'S CELEBRATE JESUS CHRIST

Will He be lonely this Christmas?
